The new German Army, the Bundeswehr, demanded already in 1956 the production of new and capable Tank Destroyers Gun and Missile to deal with the Warsaw Pact armoured threat. Consequently a new vehicle family, the Kanonenjagdpanzer (Gun) and Raketenjagdpanzer (Missile), were developed. This publication describes these vehicles in detail and in service from 1959 to 2005.
