Description
Canons De La Victoire: Vol 1: L’artillerie de campagne
The French Army started campaigning in August 1914 with a surprising field gun, the “75”, which was supposed to do everything, alongside a very weak assortment of heavy field artillery. The level of detail reached by this book is unrivalled. For the first time since the twenties, all the materiel used by the French field artillery (light and heavy) from August 1914 to November 1918, is presented in its historical context and with its principal specifications. This small volume reviews the 40 or so different artillery patterns used by the French army on the Western front from 1914-1918: it will be followed by a second volume concentrating on extra heavy railroad artillery and other speciality weapons.
