Description
In the late 1960’s the French Armee de l’Air was looking for a fighter jet to replace the Mirage III and the French government and aircraft manufacturer Dassault had quite ambitious goals. One was for a VTOL jet, another a fighter with variable geometry wings. These were new concepts at the time and development costs spirled. Anticipating to that, Dassault financed the development of a light weight, less expensive fighter. The result was the Mirage F1,which proved to be a potent fighter and a great export product at the same time. The Mirage F1 has had a long career and was in use with many air forces. We hope this book will show it from its good side !
